A condition caused by back flow of acid from stomach to esophagus causing heart burn and possibly ulcers of stomach and even cancer if not treated. Symptoms include burning sensation traveling from your stomach to your chest to your neck, nausea, abdominal pain, weight loss, chronic cough, chest pain, pain while swallowing, feels lie something is stuck in your throat, morning mucus, voice hoarsness, chest pain. Dietary causes of acid reflux include but not limited to alcohol, chocolate, carbonated drinks, caffeine, spicy food, eating before bedtime. Treatment include proton pump inhibitor like protonix, Nexium, H2 blockers like pepcid.
